US consulate in Chengdu closes as tensions with China escalate

The American consulate in the Chinese city of Chengdu closed down Monday amid escalating tensions between Washington and Beijing, which ordered the closing in retaliation for a U.S. order to shut down’s China consulate in Houston last week. NBC’s Janis Mackey Frayer reports for TODAY from Chengdu.
