Three friendly whales put on somewhat of a synchronized swimming show and were seen ‘waving’ to onlookers off the coast of Tweed Heads, New South Wales, on August 16. The trio stunned passengers on a whale-watching boat as they swam side-by-side and slapped their fins against the water several times. “That is just amazing. They won’t give you a breach, but will give you a threesome,” a woman can be heard saying in video of the event. Passenger, Karen Foster told Storyful the encounter was a welcome treat after difficult times brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. “We were feeling pretty flat with all the COVID-19 business that going whale watching lifted our spirits and has given us a new love,” Foster told Storyful.
