What Are You Looking At? Seal Checks Out Drone Before Feasting on Fish

A curious seal near Senja, Norway, paused to stare at a drone flying above the water just before it feasted on a bait ball as part of a feeding frenzy. Aerial footage captured by Matt Robinson in June 2019 shows the marine creature looking at the drone flying overhead before it preys on a shoal of herring. A seagull joins the hunt in the latter part of the video. Speaking to Storyful, Robinson said that before recording this footage he decided to go to the beach with his girlfriend Jacquiline to “make the most of the nice weather” when they noticed some commotion out on the water. “When we sent the drone out we couldn’t believe what we captured!” he wrote in the YouTube caption of the video.
