Protests may fuel new rises in coronavirus cases soon, doctor warns

In the wake of crowds gathering to protest the death of George Floyd, NBC medical correspondent Dr. John Torres tells TODAY that he expects that “in seven days to two weeks, we’re going to see a rise in cases” of coronavirus, on top of rises already occurring as states reopen. He says a new study shows that even face masks, eye protection and social distancing can’t guarantee you won’t catch the virus.
