‘I Hate to Yell at You’: Lady Shoos Bear Cub From Deck

A North Carolina woman had to intervene when an adventurous black bear cub attempted to access the high deck of her Maggie Valley home. In this video shot by Melissa Howell and submitted to Storyful on August 27, the little bear tries climbing over the deck railing in what Howell told Storyful was a bid to drink from a hummingbird feeder. “You know you don’t belong up here. I hate to yell at you but I’m gonna have to,” she cautions the cub, which appears to listen to her and aborts the mission. It makes its way back toward a nearby tree to escape.
