A group of wakeboarders were stunned to encounter a pod of orcas swimming in Indian Arm, a fjord an hour north of Vancouver, British Columbia, on September 12. This footage, shared by Josh Goodman, shows the animals breaching the water. At one point, an orca swam right next to Goodman’s motorboat, gripping a seal carcass in its mouth, he said. According to a local news report, sightings this close to land are rare, but have increased due to the availability of harbor seals for prey. Goodman told CBC the sight was “amazing and breathtaking.” Credit: @jgoodmanfilms via Storyful
