A beachgoer in Costa Rica got a glimpse of hundreds of female olive ridley sea turtles making their way up Ostional beach to lay eggs on September 13. This video, captured by Jairo Quiros Rosales, shows the turtles slowly crawling over the sand to begin their synchronized nesting. “‘Arribada’ or arrival is the mass synchronized nesting of the olive ridley sea turtle, and it happens about once a month here,” said Rosales.
