It’s not too late! We get it: It’s 2020, and you may not have had the energy to ask “what day is Thanksgiving?”, much less gotten started on all of the planning, prep work, and grocery shopping that goes into making the Thanksgiving feast. Or, perhaps you’re staying home and celebrating with just immediate family this year and are looking for easier and scaled-down menu options to feed your crew. Well, we’re granting you permission to cut some corners. We’ve had enough stress in the past several months, and if the thought of cooking a big meal from scratch adds to your angst, then skip it! There are plenty of tasty premade options you can heat and eat. We’ll get back to Grandma’s special stuffing recipe next year. If the turkey is your main source of anxiety (maybe you’ve had a burnt turkey or turkey fryer mishap in the past), then there’s nothing easier than picking up one of these options from a local store of even having it delivered in the mail. Just be sure to check delivery times and availability, or you might find yourself looking for restaurants open on Thanksgiving. While precooked turkeys are basically fool-proof, some of these options are sold frozen, so you may need to plan some time for thawing. Also, use our handy chart to find out how many pounds of turkey per person, so you don’t end up with endless leftovers! With the time you’ve saved, you’ll be able to relax with the family watching a Thanksgiving movie on Netflix or playing Thanksgiving games and reflecting on all of the things you do have to be thankful for.
