Autoimmune disease: Watch out for these signs

Multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis—these are fairly common diagnoses. But what you may not realize is that they all have one thing in common: they are autoimmune diseases. An autoimmune disease occurs when there is a dysfunction in the immune system that causes it to turn against its host. This causes cell damage that can result in a multitude of symptoms.
